VISTA black and white color

Recently my VISTA Ultimate got the 'STOP' error.
It did not show up any related file error on the black screen. Then I reboot
my machine and the VISTA now only shows black and white. I tried to set the
resolution and color but it is still the same.

Then I tried to boot with my XP harddisk, it has the color, so it seems
related to VISTA.

do a system restore if nothing else helps

The bad thing is I have not backup my system.

system restore works automatically..

start > all programs> accessories> system tools> system restore

and you will go to a date that you know your pc was ok


no work or email or other personal documents will be lost

Have you tried looking at your graphics card settings, or make sure it is
not the monitor?

yes, the driver is not working totally correct with vista aero...

so its either the driver that needs update (see if you can get the latest
version).. or vista is the worse OS microsoft has ever made.

You might also try running vista in classic mode (without aero)

I have updated my graphic card driver for Vista.

BTW, any idea why sometime when I play .rmvb file VISTA says will turn into
basic mode?
