Hello,
I am hoping you can help me with this problem, I have an emachines with
vista home premium bought onthe computer. It will randomly blue screen my
error code is 0x00000050, so i called emachines and after jumping thru their
hoops ( they had me do a partial reinstall than a full factory install, that
isn't ALL i had to do but it would take to much time to explain it all) they
replced my hard drive. I get the tower back and it happens again when it
tried to do an automatic update, I call them back......they want me to jump
thru those hoops again!!!!! they say new hard drive i have to start over UGH!!
!! anyway the difernce with tis one is I can force a blue screen....when I
try to run defrag....it will do it EVERYTIME. when i told em about that (and
for awhile it was doing it when it would try to update) the guy told me that
he turned his update off and I have NO reason to defrag my drive...wether he
feels that i had no reason to do that i still would like this issue fixed. I
followed the steps in one of the threads on this page
http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forum.a...cted-shutdowns
the ones by Mark and Ronnie. The problem i am having is that when i try to
look up the past blue screens my reliability monitor doesn't show time, am I
doing something wrong.......? it isn't showing the blue screen info for today
on the monitor. Let me know what info you need I would love to get this
solved. PLEASE help me.

Thanks,
LittleFly

If you have already replaced the drive and reloaded it... I would check the
memory with vista's memory tester...
Link on how to do that is here...

I have had that error and it was one of my stick's of ram,

Good Luck

eMachines tech support is just being a pig. Of course you need to do
updates, be able to do a defrag, and have a reliable machine. eMachines
make cr*p computers but since you bought one, call them back and tell them
you've already gone through everything and they need to replace the
motherboard, RAM, and power supply. Since that's essentially the entire
machine (because they've already replaced the hard drive) maybe they'll
send you a replacement computer. A lot depends on how long you've had this
computer. If you just bought it, back up your data, return the machine to
full factory condition, and take it back to the store where you got it and
insist on a replacement. Tell them it just doesn't work. Or better still,
get a refund and buy a better quality machine.
