Vista boot freezes with green bar

I've had Vista for a while and I've never run into this problem before.
While I was watching some vids on you tube, IE became unresponsive. Then an
error came up, which unfortunately I didn't record, but it said in a nutshell
that explorer.exe had a problem. Then my screen went blank, and after a few
moments I pressed alt+ctrl+del but another error message came up and said it
was unable to load that either. So I hard rebooted my computer, and it
eventually got to the windows loading screen, and it stayed there. The
windows loading screen was stuck with the little green bar continually going
across with nothing else happening.

So then I rebooted my computer, again, and this time in safe mode it started
loading but then got stuck on a certain file, which I cannot recall, but it
started with a 'c'.

I rebooted it again, and it got stuck on the green bar screen again.

Just now, I rebooted my computer again after letting it rest for a while,
and then it just went straight into a black screen and froze there.

So, I'd appreciate some help cause I don't know wth is going on.

C:\windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys

A Cyclic Redundancy Check, CRC, is a way to check for file corruption. You
probably need to repair the system files.

Your best bet before you get any further in the hole would be to do a system
restore from the Install DVD. You could try F8 and a last known good, but
you are probably past the point of that working

Yeah, I went into setup and told it to boot from CD first, and I did a few
other things to my memory, and for some reason my secondary harddrive was set
to boot before my primary (I don't know what that was about). But when I set
my CD to boot and rebooted, I pressed F8 it sent me to some boot options, but
my install CD wouldn't load and neither would safe mode. But one of the
times I rebooted it just decided to start working, and a boot from the cd
option appeared and brought me to chkdsk which fixed the problem and my
computer has been booting up fine from then on. The problems they found were
in internet explorer. Go figure.
