I had XP and I changed the boot screen without any hassle via C:\boot.ini
etc.
How can I change Vista`s boot image?

Hi Doofy,

You will have to enable the Aurora boot screen first, then replace it
with one of your choice. You can get full detailed easy instuctions on
how to do this here.

Have fun,
Shawn

Any changes that could be made by editing the boot.ini as the OP asked can
be made with these. You can add OS's change timeouts and defaults, etc.

You can't change the bootscreen using VistaBootPRO, and boot.ini isn;t even
used in Vista anymore. VistaBootPRO is just an easy to use interface for
BCDEdit.

BCDEdit also is used to add other systems to the bootscreen. boot.ini is
not directly used by Vista, however, if you are dual booting with a legacy
system, the Vista bootloader calls the ntldr which then uses boot.ini .
Feel free to think anything that you want. If anyone wants to follow your
advice, that is their choice, and I for one realise that educating you isn't
possible. Enjoy.
