Vista Boot Up

Have been trying to help my friend who is using vista home premium Compaq Presario SR2125UK D We had to send for recovery disks after numerous re installs have have reached the position were everything works tried restart sleep shutdown all working perfect until we shutdown turn off the mains power supply when we turn on will not boot up in normal mode instead starts up in safe mode with out prompting offering 4 choices safe mode, safe mode with network,safe mode with command prompt ,start up normally 25seconds countdown let this try screen goes blank ,we then have to use f8 to start up in safe mode which then starts up in a number of options any help will be appreciated getting very frustrated Ron Hilditch
