After using Symantec Backup/Restore to copy my existing disk to a new larger
disk and then trying to boot the new disk, Vista starts but does not have
any keyboard or mouse input.
I have tried safe mode and the results are the same.

Any idea what I can do to get the keyboard and mouse back ?

Check your BIOS... might have them turned off.

Can't assure that this will work, make a systemrestore before doing this:
Delete drivers of both keyboard and mouse, and restart windows, maybe that
will work...
Don't blame me if you get into even bigger problems with computer but it's a
windows, always will be a windows so restarting will always
work/reïstalling...
