Vista Business 32-Bit and SBS 2003 R2 Shared fax - Once more

Hi there,

I'm a newbie to this forum (first post). I've just upgraded my Lenovo
T60 from XP Pro to Vista Business.

First impression is very good, works much better than the hear and
saying

The only issue I have is this:

I can't connect to the shared fax which is located here \\server\Fax

I've searched the forum, but there is a lot of old treads comming up,
and therefore this new thread.

Anyone got a working solution?

State how you configured remote fax.
Because of the tighter security in Vista there are more stringent
requirements to log onto your server fax. To be able to access it:
(a) the client and server (DC) are in the same domain, and
(b) the user is logged on at the client using a credential that's understood
by the server.
In older OS (XP and so), the RPC for printer share used to remember
credentials but we don't have that any more as that poses security concerns.
