Well done Colin .... That hadn't occurred to me. However, I've now
hooked up an old 3.5" external drive, and, copying the same set of
large files to it, it works perfectly. So the issue is indeed most
likely a compatability with the 2.5" external drive. Bummer......
'cause its one of those little enclosures that doubles an a multimedia
player.
