Not a good idea. You need to purchase an external USB hard drive
and perform periodic backups. Otherwise, if your hard drive fails,
you'll also lose access to the data and all will be lost.

If your talking about secure zone that doesn't work with Vista yet. Get an
external drive and backup to that and don't use secure zone...I think Secure
zone is out dated.

Good luck, Rich

Keeping data on a separate partition IS a good idea. Anytime you need to
reinstall the OS after a major problem, all data is kept protected. Using a
separate drive for data is better, but in the case of laptops, this is not
possible.

Huh? He's talking about partitions. Not TrueImage. And Secure Zone works
fine with Vista.

I was told by Acronis that Secure Zone was greyed out as an option in Vista?

I use the recovery manager with a multiboot with different OSs, but it seems
to work fine. I'll have to double check if it works within Vista itself,
but that would be news to me.

You were given incorrect information. Acronis Secure Zone has always
worked flawlessly for me running Vista Ultimate x86.

It works just fine for me from within Windows. I just checked it again.
No problem.

OK great I stand corrected. I go to the
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/index.php site often to check for updates and
information and there people (Acronis) said it was greyed out. I just went
by what I was told.

Sorry for the confusion, Rich
