Vista Circles of Life and Death

Is anyone as tired as I am of staring at the Vista Spinning Circle of
Microsoft Incompetence?
From boot-up to shut-down and everything in between I am utterly tired of
staring at this spinning circle. Vista, SP1, SP2: nothing changes.
The best anyone can say about Vista is that at least it works, sort of.
The computer I write this on boots to XP, Vista and Win 7: only the middle
OS spins and spins and spins waiting to do anything while the hard drive
thrashes like a an out of balance clothes dryer.
Vista apologists need not respond. If you only run Vista on a machine you
cannot see how utterly lousy it really is and what you are missing in
performance from your hardware.
Linux propeller heads can sit in a corner and spin their beanies. Some of us
have to accomplish real work instead of endless futzing with an OS.
On this machine Win7 has become my default OS and I will gladly pay for the
final version when it goes on sale so I can recover the hard drive space
wasted on Vista. The performance of the XP virtualized OS in Win7 is nearly
as fast as Vista on its own.
If Microsoft had any honor (or business acumen) they would offer Win7 for a
limited time as the free service pack it should be for users stuck with the
utter kludge that is Vista.
However Microsoft has demonstrated it would prefer to pay billions to the EU
in fines rather than treat its customers fairly.
It is indisputable that dead and buried General Motors executives from the
60s and 70s psychically control Steve Balmer. There is no other rational
explanation for the performance of Microsoft under his direction.

I call it "rolling donut", but "circle of life and death" isn't too bad.

Perhaps everyone prefers MAC's merry go round color circle...talk about
getting ultra tiresome ultra fast!

Is there anyway to get the hourglass back? This should actually be a
customizable, changeable feature.

Asking a question?
Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about,
your OS, Service Pack level
and the FULL contents of any error message(s)

I think that incompetent children who can't learn enough about
a computer to make even a canned Microsoft operating system run properly
should find a Linux head and beg her to give him her beanie so he can
amuse himself with it instead of wasting bandwidth whining about how he
can't get any REAL work done because Vista sucks boo hoo hoo.

99% of Vista problems is hardware that is too old or not powerful enough to
run it! I suppose you were misinformed enough to think xp was the best!.
Then you were probably not around when it came out and MILLIONS of people
had problems with it as well. Xp became a half decent op system only after
sp2 but by then it was so bogged down with patches and updates that it was a
pig compared to when it first came out! I personally have a problem with
people who seem to have the intelligence to come here to get help but then
rant about something without posting a specific problem they are having nor
posting any specs as to what they have equipment wise. How on earth is
someone supposed to help if one does that and besides that was probably the
10th post in a row I read that was almost identical in ranting but no
question involved! I always do what I can to help with my somewhat limited
knowledge of some of the problems but I cannot help always, when that
happens I try and direct them to someone who can. Mostly I read these
questions to learn answers and have a better understanding of why they
occur. Now why are YOU here? I personally do not care what you think but
know this, as I have stated many times in other posts and or forums. Vista
is and has been rock solid on this machine since day 1 of the rtm. I ran the
beta as well as the rc and I did have problems then but not since

I don't think that's true. XP was pretty good from the start
although at the beginning 2000 was far more stable.
