Launch an elevated CMD window (Right click, Run as Administrator)
It may be due to currupted icon cache.
In the CMD window navigate to C:\Users\<ProfileName>\AppData\Local
Execute the following commands one by one
> attrib -H IconCache.db
>
> del IconCache.db
Restart or log off to take effect.
This should rebuild the Icon Cache...
