Well, Office 2000 is not certified to be compatible with Windows Vista, some
persons have reported that it works ok on the OS, but I am sure they
couldn't guarantee the entire functionality of the suite is compatible. It
seems that the version of the ODBC used by Office 2000 is incompatible with
the Vista version. You could try applying Service Pack 3 to seem if it will
fix any problems with Mail Merge, but its not guaranteed. The only
recommendation would be upgrade to a later version of Office thats
guaranteed to be compatible such as Office 2003 or Office 2007.
