Vista conflict with itself

Both the CD Rom and DVD went dead. Control Panel Device Manager states
drivers are corrupt or missing. Doing an update, windows says my system
needs no updates. The driver for these two pieces of hardware came from the
Vista Operating system. How do I access these drivers and re-install when
windows says they are ok except under Device Manager. Also, I have no
ability to access a CD or Installation CD for Vista. I am using Windows
Vista Home premium.

I'd suggest you uninstall the drivers, reboot, then reinstall them (using the
device manager if they aren't automatically reoffered).

Harry.

Hi Tom,

I had same problem and this fixed it:

Maybe you already solved it. If not, try that.
