I bought Vista Ultimate, thinking that I am moving with the time...

I am now asking this question, why does Microsoft sell this product before
it is even barely working? So many things not working!!! the list is
endless.....

It caused errors in printers, giving messages about the printer not
connected when it is perfectly connected, I was sent installation patch kits
that creats multiple copies of the same printer profile in the printers
folder.

I print a webpage into PDF onto desk top, it will not show the file on
desktop until maybe 15-20 minutes later!! After I thought it failed and do
it again, and again and again...
It Cannot open 2 Excel files at the same time...the machine hangs immediately.

Cannot install any simple pen/digitizer, the patch kit/driver for anything
to work with Vista is huge...
Downloading large files from the internet always fails, there is an
"invisible" time limit and it stops the downloading after a certain time.
Therefore patch kits/drivers for thing to support Vista cannot never be
downloaded properly...vicious circle, isn't it???

The orginally clear structure of all the commands are now funny
pictures...not in the same place etc...Crash, hanging, I don't have time to
waste mucking about with unfinished product.

I want my money back!! Plus compensation on time wasted & emotional
distress !!!

Did you do your homework and research the possible issues with Vista and
your current hardware? If not, then you have nothing to complain about. In
my case, I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista Home Premium.
While it immediately recognized and installed my Epson Stylus Photo R200
printer and my Samsung ML-1430 printer and my Epson Perfection 1650 scanner,
it does not get along with some of the software that came with the scanner
and ink jet printer. So those functions do not work under Vista.

You can't expect miracles. All three pieces of hardware do work, just not
with all the software that was included with them. I can't use the function
buttons on the scanner, for instance. Big deal! It scans just fine,
regardless.

Is your machine capable of running Vista Ultimate? And I don't mean just
the absolute minimum requirements. You need at least 2GB of RAM and you
should have a discrete video card with at least 128MB of RAM. Yes, you can
run Vista on systems with integrated video memory, but the consensus is that
a video card is really required to get Vista to perform.

What kind of internet connection are you using? There is no "time limit"
for downloading files as far as I can tell. I have just this week
downloaded three files each of which was just over 1.0 GB in size with no
issues of any kind. My DSL connection handled them all with no problems.

Finally, did you do a clean install of Vista Ultimate? Or did you attempt
an install over XP? Do the work and research required to use your copy of
Vista Ultimate. Then try the install again.

I suggest that you:

Learn how to use a computer
Be specific about your Hardware and Software.
Whether you built it, or you bought it.

You want compensation!
Be careful what you say about a Product which you have added to, and
obviously not set up properly, and not being used properly.

Nobody here can refund your money however some may be able to help
resolve a few of your problems. I agree it is very annoying to find
things that don't work but you have a couple of choices. You can
reinstall your old operating system, install something completely
different or try and get Vista working as you would like it to work. How
practical the last option is depends a lot on what hardware you have.

So first, if you decide to put an old system back, do you have a CD and
product key to do that?

If you want to get Vista working properly just ask, people will be
willing to try and help - but none can guarantee to fix everything at once.

If you decide you want to try something else it will involve spending a
few hours, I guess we will assume you had XP before. There are some
versions of Linux that you could use but if you want an easy path then
XP is probably it.

If you choose to try and get Vista working properly it would help people
to assist you if you could say a little about what hardware you have,
especially the bits causing you trouble, how much memory you have, and
whether you upgraded from XP (or something) to Vista or was it a clean
install.

Your money back is easy if you live in North America:
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/prod...nd/refund.mspx
As for compensation etc, it will probably never happen.
Like most products purchased, there is no entitlement to any
compensation other than refund of price paid.

"I was sent installation patch kits"
Contact whoever sent the kits.
Apparently something in their kits was not functioning properly.

"there is an "invisible" time limit"
That may be the server from where you are downloading or your ISP.
As long as you did not change settings in Windows, Vista is not the
cause.

"are now funny pictures"
A vague description, but it sounds like you did not install Windows
Vista drivers for your video card.

"Crash, hanging"
That could be almost anything.
A common cause is incompatible driver, bad memory, bad hard drive etc.
Before upgrading, did you verify Windows Vista compatibility of all
your essential hardware and software directly with their respective
manufacturers?

If he knew all the answers he wouldn't need to be here now, would he?
