I have done a clean install of Vista Ultimate (64), and since then, everytime
I start my computer, it fails to boot correctly. It passes the BIOS page,
starts the animated bar at the bottom of the page, and a few seconds later,
the screen goes blank, and my VDU gives the messgae, "NO SIGNAL" After about
a minute, the system reboots to the BIOS page again and continues up to the
animated screen, and stops again. After it self boots for a second time, I
get the SAFE MODE option screen. If I leave it on START WINDOWS NORMALLY, and
leave it to complete the 30s count down, It boots again, and then completes
the boot into Vista. If at the count down screen, I press enter, it goes into
a boot loop that doesn't stop until I press the reset button on my box. Any
Idea's? I have done a re-install twice and problem continues.

What was it like BEFORE you performed the clean install?
And also, what LED to that installation?I mean, what was the reason behind it?

Sounds like your video card is horked. First try reseating it and if
that doesn't work, use a known working video card. Of course, the
downside is that Vista may very well think that by changing your video
card, that you're a thief trying to install Vista on another computer
but welcome to the World of Windows.

It ran perfectly. I did the clean install because I wanted to partition my
HD! I have not changed any hardware. This problem started before I had
installed any other software, drivers or updates. I have run chkdsk on the
partitions, and it is not reporting any problems. I have also run the boot
diagnostic tool on the setup disc, and it reports that there is nothing wrong
with my boot.

It probably seems that while your previous installation was working, you had
made certain changes in the BIOS settings because of which a clean
installation is failing now.

Try an In Place Upgrade (Vista's version of Repair Install) and see if the
issues persist. You boot into Windows, insert the Vista dvd, click on
Install now, and choose upgrade. It does not disturb your apps and files.

Have just tried that, but it wont let me do an upgrade as it says I would be
down-grading.
