vista crashes when i connect my ipaq

-my ipaq syncs fine on my xp version of windows

- when i try and connect my ipaq with my new laptop running vista it starts
to recognize the the ipaq, but then the screen turns blue and gives a bunch
of messages.

-the i paq is running windows mobile 2003 se
- the laptop is running vista home premium

how can this issue be fixed
