Hello I am new to Vista and have been using it for about 2 weeks. I have a
Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have applied a couple of the Vista updates. The
most recent update however crashes my computer completely when it reboots.
It goes to the Error screen on reboot and asks if I want to start normally
etc. I pick safe mode and it won't even start in that. I have to put my
Vista disk in reboot and then it will start in safe mode. As soon as I do a
system restore to the pint before the windows update the laptop runs fine.
My problem is I don't want to run without updates. Any suggestions would be
much appreciated.

I had the exact same scenario, While the MS support rep (from India) was on
the phone with me. He had me boot from the install DVD, and restore from a
previous checkpoint. Last night, another tech called, and had me install the
updates 3-4 at a time, rebooting in-between. All 21 eventually installed
successfully. Also, if you have Comodo Firewall, install the very latest
(15.277). Good luck.
