There's no need to be *leery* of Critical Security updates. What you
stated were ' 5 CRITICAL Vista updates ', *specifically* Broadcom and
Nvidi, were Recommended driver updates. You should open Windows Updates
in the Control Panel and UNcheck the bottom pane to opt the system out
of OPTIONAL Recommended updates.
In the future, obtain driver updates from the manufacturer's of the
hardware via their web sites.
