Hi:

Windows Vista Defragmenter is about the worst that I have ever seen. It
does not show you any progression status and it takes forever.

Does anyone have an alternate free defragmenter and/or suggestion?

Thanks,

ColTom2

Here are a couple, and you can find more using your favorite search engine.

I have been using Vista & its defragmenter since May 2007 with no problems.
It works silently & automatically in the background and is one less thing I
have to think about. I do not have a need to know the progression. It
only seems to 'take forever' because it works more or less continuously as
you carry out various tasks and operations that involve the hard drive. I
just suggest letting it do its job and don't worry about it.

Hi Andrew:

Thanks, as I think that you have a winner here with their new version 4.0
of MyDefrag!

My preference would be for auslogics, but anything is better than the
dumbed down Vista version.

Make sure Vista's performance wasting background defrag is not
running.
