Hi,I am using a Vista Home Premium 32 bit,and the vista C drive keeps
filling up,but I have two other drives a F and D drive,it seems my
system has the C drive as the default, how can I change this I have done
a disk check and compressed the drive but I want the computer to store
information on the other two drives.

Most browsers let you change the directory where the cache is stored.

You can change where Windows puts the printer buffer files.

Create folders on the other drives and drag/drop or copy/paste from the C:
drive to the destination folders.

It's not primarily a matter of a default, but rather where you elect
to put files. For example, when you download a file, you are asked
where you want to store it. The last place you chose is kept as a
default, but you can simply change where you want it. The same is true
when you save files in programs like Word, Excel, etc.

by the way, in my view compressing a drive is a very bad thing to do.
It essentially makes the entire drive into a single file, and a disk
error will result in losing everything on the drive rather than just a
single file.

I use window Vista 32Bit. C:\ drive size 66 GB for the OS. I have 32 GB
free space left on C:\ drive and works very well. Everything not pertain
to the Operating System is in Drive D:\. What the other member?s suggest
is OK. However, doesn?t solve your problem.

I use a different system in my computer. I moved the location of the ?My
Documents Folder? to drive [D:\]. Then everything I put in my Document
folder and subfolders is stored on drive D, none of the files goes on
drive C. Moreover, I moved the folders; Pictures; Music; Videos;
Contacts; My Email folder; Favorites.

If you wish to try what I suggest:
Open windows explore, decide witch folder you want to move first. Backup
the folder content, just in case you delete the content by mistake.
Assuming you start with My Document Folder.
Right-click on ?My Documents? folder, click-on ?Properties?, and then
click-on ?Location?. Here, in this window, you can move ?My Documents?
folder and subfolders, including all the files the folders contain, to a
new location or a new drive.

I hope this will help,
Gloru04,
