First, sorry for my bad english... be cool with me

This is my story, and I hope you will have a good solution for me.

After the installation of my Vista Home Premium (come with my Laptop),
I install all of my software. From a 40Gb partition, 23Gb left. So i've
decide to expand my partition from 40Gb to 60Gb.

I've try Acronis Disk Director Suite v10.0.2117, but at the start of
the process, I receive a error (explain many time in the forum) but I've
decide to Ignore All. The partition process run without problem... but
after the reboot, nothing append.

Ok... i have a backup. So I decide to restore my backup file...
computer don't boot. I try the Ultimate Boot CD to see what append, the
drive is ok and the partition is ok too.

After few hours (like 5 of 6) i've decide to restore my computer with
the original CD. But how to expand my C: partition. I've got a good
idea; The Ubuntu LiveCD!!!

After Ubuntu is loaded, I've run GParted, and I expand my C: partition
from 40 to 60Gb...

After the operation, Vista is booting but resize itself the partition
back to 40Gb (after a few minute of working, like 20-30 min) and when
Vista is back, I've check my partition size of C:, and it's a 40Gb!!!

So my question is, HOW to expand my partition and get Vista working???

Rambytes - several things- update Disk Director to Vista version 2160.
Regarding "...I install all of my software. From a 40Gb partition, 23Gb
left...." - some confusion here - what is the size of partition "C"?
Also you must have unallocated space to extend a partition. it is very
unlikely you have 23 gig unallocted space - are you sure it is not "free"
space?
