VISTA download problems...(SOLUTION)

Hi All..
I have found on various forums that people are struggling to download
files and programs on vista. I am using Vista Ultimate and had the same
problem.My Web Browser was Firefox and I could download files and
programs but as soon as the downloading finished, the file disappeared,
not to be found anywhere. I have tried everything from changing user
accounts to re-booting my PC as well as deleting add-ons.

UNTIL YESTERDAY....
I was watching a clip on you tube and saw a advert of Google chrome. As
I knew I wont be able to download it, I just tried. Clicked the download
and save button.. downloaded as usual and tadaah... IT STAYED ON THE
DESKTOP (my location for downloaded files). As quick as a blink I hit
the setup button, installed Google Chrome... and now.. by using Google
chrome as my web browser... I CAN DOWNLOAD ALL FILES, GAMES, MUSIC,
PROGRAMS..... as I always did!! Hope this solves your download problem
too.

Or you could have looked in the appropriate Temporary Internet folder or
considered trusting the site you download from and used the save to
dialogue.

Firefox : tools , options , main : check show the downloads
window....... , save files to , (browse) .
