Is it true that Vista will be installed as the in flight software on the new
Boeing 787 dreamliner?

If that's true, I'm definitely flying Airbus any chance I get.
They may be #2 in the aviation industry, but they'll crash less. They
use Linux.

What? Huh?

"They use Linux. "

Maybe for their RESERVATION system. Very, very unlikely they use Linux for any
flight control systems -- most likely embedded and proprietary.

Try their IFE as well:

It is also mentioneed that the B787 may also use Linux. Double
blow to the big Redmond Machine.

well, if any airplane uses windows they will definatly change the fact that
flying is safe than driving. for god sake windows (any version) crashes more
often then there is an accident yearly.
i for one will stop using air plane if i learn they are using windows,
linux..... i don't know, it is reliable, but only thing i'm worried about is
linux not having drivers for the devices lol i'm less worried about linux,
but i don't think they would be using windows they could be charged with
gross endangerment of lives he he he he

This was meant to be a joke, had this wonderful vision of the aircraft about
to land, when up pops Vista's UAC declaring "You dont have permission to
lower the undercarriage, please log in as Administrator" oops to late.

ha ha ha this was good, how this? in the middle of flying and the main
computer says sorry the thirty days trial is over, please purchase the full
version, program funconability(forgot how to spell it sorry) is limited, you
will no longer be able to control the airplane.

or how's this?
in the middle of flight, sorry unable to install update, your system was
found to have an invalid copy of the operating system, please make sure
using this link..... that your OS complies with the anti-piracy law
