Vista DVD burn hangs after Lead-in

Hi,

I have recently replaced my HP 740b writer by a NEC/Sony Optiarc DVD RW
AD-7173S. When I try to burn a DVD video the process hangs after the lead-in
phase. I have tried burning the DVD using nero 7, nero 8 and roxio creator
10. All produce the same result. Lead-in is burned, DVD speed is 16x (you can
hear the drive spinning up) and nothing happens. I have to turn off the PC to
shut the process down.

When I do the same in windows XP (using nero6) It burns fine every time. No
strangeness here.

What could be causing the hang in vista ?

I am using nero 7.10.1.0 with vista. It works good.

I have used Nero 7 with my old DVD burner without problems, but with the new
one I can't get a DVD burned in vista.

The machine has multiboot, and when I burn a DVD under windows XP there is
absolutely no problem so it is not a hardware issue.
