Not really. Keep in mind that Microsoft has pimp slapped the OEM
channel so Vista is being adopted no matter what. Because of this they
are able to push the initiatives that are part of Vista (Games for
Windows, etc..) without hindrance.
Vista isn't the end of the world, it has quote a few new features that
the world will find attractive one the hardware specs catch up with it.
3 years from now when quadcore machines are everywhere and 64bit
software is no longer exotic, XP will seem quaint. Just like Windows 98
does now
