Vista error 80246005 AUD downloads but doesn't install

i have Vista Home Prem.
the Windows downloads but when i try to install i get error 80246005.
i tried the advise given on:
http://www.alibutt.com/?p=195

i was able to do this step:
select Run, type in: services.msc

but among the list of services Automatic Updates Service is not listed,
i also looked for it under Windows Automatic Update Service
couldn't find that either...

any help?

haha silly me, AU said it was ready to install, i assumed i didn't need to be
on-line... but that was the easy answer, have a connection, and it downloads
& installs...

80246005 = "Network connection was not available"

so easy peasy, i got connected & it WORKED :-~

Network connection was not available
The update has not been downloaded.

Pick one. Would you please post the WindowsUpdate.log that's located in
the WINDOWS directory [folder]

StartSearch > windowsupdate.log

Or, Start > Run > type in
%windir%\windowsupdate.log
Click OK or press Enter
Please post the last 50 or so lines of the log after another
installation attempt, laurie.
