I get this error message every so often when on my new laptop, its been a
persitent problem and I can't understand why. My laptop was pre intsalled
with vista and hasn't been upgraded and has had the problem since new, since
it's so infrequent (about once every three week) it's not worth paying for
support. Can anyone help?

Hi Drew,

Warranty support on a new system should be free, use it before it's too
late. A BAD_POOL_CALLER error is a driver error, and it won't get better if
it's not addressed. Your manufacturer should be able to either supply an
updated driver for their hardware, or diagnose a conflict with their
provided software.

If this is a new laptop, the proper response is to return it for warranty
repair or replacement. New equipment should not behave in this manner.
