vista error message about not configured to Run applicaiont

I had to reinstall my 3 month old copy of vista this week 8/20. Now I cannot
run and office 2003 programs. I have removed the Office 2003 and installed it
again and continue to get this error statement " The OS is not configureed to
run this application. " regardless of the office program I try to open.
WHat is the solution?
