Well, I upgraded to vista. Now when I uninstall a program, or two,
VISTA gives me an error saying "An error occurred while trying to
uninstall, it may be already uninstalled. Would you like to remove it
from the programs and features list?"

I've never had a problem like this with uninstalling from XP. Does
anyone know how to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the program so I
can uninstall it. But it's still there.

No it a funny change in Vista. It is just another way of saying its
uninstalled but bits like icons may need manual removal. XP was the same but
different language. Not all programs will leave bit behind of course

Hi,

That usually occurs when the program has already been removed or when it
can't find the uninstall log to tell it what files, registry entries, and
folders to remove. When the system was upgraded, the core was replaced
including the Windows folder which is where many programs would store their
uninstall information. Without it the uninstaller has nothing to reference.
The solution may be to reinstall the program first to recreate the missing
information. But, unless the program inserts something into the startup
axis, it may not be wholly necessary to do anything other than follow the
prompt to remove the reference as the program folder can simply be deleted,
and any remaining registry references will not interfere with normal
operation unless there is a file type dependency.
