Everytime I shut down the Internet Explorer or shut down an application (some
not all applications) I get a "Host Process Error" which closes all my open
Explorer pages. I recently installes "One Care" and the Firewall does not
start and gives me an error as well. It states that a problem caused the
application to stop working properly. I get the same message with IE. All
updates have been installed sucessfully. What's the problem?

I know of three causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings. See this
article first:
How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES):

3. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,
whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

You might also try the steps here:

Hi,
I found the Program "Skype v3.5" to be the culprit. Once removed IE returned
to normal. Unfortunatly "One Care" did not correct leaving me to seek
anti-virus help from another vendor. I uninstalled "One Care" and used the
uninstall utility, rebooted several times then re-installed "One Care" again
but the firewall error message came back.
BTW...I reinstalled Skype and IE continues to operate normal.
