Hi recently when i try to open the control panel in vista it starts loading
but then i get a message saying windows explorer is restarting.... I havent
been able to open control panel since this problem happened.

So when i tried to run safe mode even the explorer seems to
be closing itselfs. Even when i load task manager and try to retrieve
explorer it just closes itselfs.

I managed to log event viewer from administrative tools and i searched for
the error details. This is what i got

Faulting application Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6000.16549, time stamp
0x46d230c5, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp

To reinstall IE (for XP SP2 - no choice for Vista on Microsoft's IE7
download page - go figure) click here -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

To run a no-install version of Firefox then try and download IE from MS and
reinstall click here -

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/por...f.exe?download

Good luck.

If you do choose this method, I recommend using the kubuntu version as it's
look and feel is more familiar to Windows users. You can get it from
http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/ubuntu...0-dvd-i386.iso.

For an even more friendly (to Windows users) distro, try PCLinuxOS at
http://www.pclinuxos.com/index.php?o...load&Itemid=36 .

Is an LHA extraction utility installed to your system?
Is LplsShlx.dll on your system?
