VISTA FAILED UPDATES!! 95%!!

hi all,don't seem to be getting with vista sad to say...miss windows xp!
however, just brought a sony vaio so just building it up and downloading the
updates. 40 of the 59 updates so far have FAILED to install and the error
code on the majority of them is 80200010, i am running windows vista home
premium 32 bit...any suggestions would be soooo apprecciated...thanks.
