I just purchased a new laptop with Vista Home Premium installed.
I brought it home and imediately had all sorts of driver issues and
compatibility problems with my wireless infrastructure. I downloaded
and installed updated drivers for my Linksys 802.11n card as well as
updating the firmware on my access point after much digging to find
there were Vista-centric issues with them.
Now I'm getting connections to my wireless access point but I'm not
getting DHCP to work. I went to my DHCP server and found that it is
communicating properly with my laptop. Here are the logs from the
DHCP server:
2008:04:29-22:08:56 (none) dhcpd: DHCPACK on 10.1.0.12 to 00:1e:8c:

2008:04:29-22:53:00 (none) dhcpd: DHCPACK to 10.1.0.254
The fourth line specifies that a connection was "refused"
Why would any machine refuse a connection?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Running Norton Internet Security apps: firewall + virus scan
I checked the firewall on Vista and DHCP/BOOTP are allowed inbound.
