Vista format

Why does Vista full format take longer time than XP format operation?
Formatting 1GB pen drive in vista takes apporximately 3Min while XP
takes less than a minute.

Better job? I guess if your job is to format 3200 of them then there might
be cause for concern. I just formatted two yesterday. Never even thought
of timing the process.

Haven't experienced any such performance issues. Does it happen when you try
different USB ports on the system?
