Hi,

I've seen this problem around but haven't come across an adequate solution.
When I play a DVD on my computer either in media center or in WMP, it runs
for a while the just freezes up the computer. After about 5 minutes the
computer starts responding again...

The dvd was brand new, I have the latest driver for my graphics card (Nvidia
6600).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Aaron

My guess would be some RAM or Virtual Memory problem. Run the Memory
diagnostics in Admin Tools. You might consider trying it While you play a
problem DVD.

I ran the diagnostic tool. No problems were detected. It happens with all DVD
videos when I try to watch them.

Did you check for latest driver at the Nvidia website?

As I stated in my first post, "I have the latest driver for my graphics card"
It was the first step I took to try and rectify this problem.

I know. I'm asking if you checked for the latest driver at the Nvidia
website as opposed to checking via the Device Manager.

I'm running a media file that I have on my PC to determine whether it is due
to the DVD player which is a suspect in my mind as it doesn't have a
manufacturuer's driver because LG don't do it , nor have they even included
the GSA-62N as a model of theirs in Support.

It appears to be the DVD writer. It's a LG GSA-H62N, LG aren't offering any
help on the issue even when I contact customer support they offered no help.
Does anyone know of an alternate driver for this product other than the one
Vista automatically uses?

Thanks,

aaron
