Run memory diagnostic. Boot up using the Vista DVD and navigate your way to
the memory tester.

This contradicts reports of Global Warming.
If Vista is freezing on you, try spraing it with petrol & apply a Torch. it
should warm up.
The rumours are that Windows7 has frozen a local New York professor to
death, by encroaching onto his lap and then suddenly falling asleep &
freezing.
When professor discovered it, all her DLL's and Services were already beyond
help.
It froze.

Could be page file problem since it wont read or write the memory, bu
as stated above run the memory diagnostic. You dont need to vista disk
for that.

Go to start search > type MdSched.exe > hit enter > then schedule
memory check for the next reboot > reboot and let it ru
