Hello,

I got a problem with vista at the moment. sometimes windows stops
working, the screen gets black and keyboard and mouse are not
responding. The screen gives a message that there is no signal. The
power of the computer is stil on but nathing works. The only way to
get the system working is to shut the power of en start the system
again. does anyone know what's happening?

with kind regards

Do you experience the symptoms discussed in this KB article?

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=932406

Note the two Methods under the heading "WORKAROUND". (If the workarounds
work, you may benefit from the Update.)

The x86 Update download for the KB932406 problem is here:

If the screen goes black, how do you know the keyboard and mouse are not
responding? Not trying to be flip... just curious...

If the monitor shows a message that there's no signal... then, most likely,
there's no signal. Have you checked that your monitor cable is securly
attached to the PC? Do you have the latest drivers for your video card? What
video card are you using? Are you using a KVM, by any chance?
