There has been many articles regarding the Vista SP1 Update not downloading
to a PC that has a Logitech WebCam\Software Installed due to a known
Conflict..its covered in the Microsoft Article 948343.

My PC has the Lvuvc.sys file in a Sub Folder under Program
Files\Logitech......but it is NOT shown in the Systems32 Folder.

I am now wondering if SP1 is being Blocked (my PC is Set to Automatic
Download\Install).......as covered in the Microsoft article?

If I go to Windows Update SP1 appears as an available Update....but as I
read more about this problem it seems to support that the automatic Update
process will be blocked, and if you try to manually install SP1 it might not
Install....

Does anyone know if this problem has been corrected by Microsoft? In order
to avoid problems I would rather get SP1 thru Automatic Update knowing there
are no conflicts then attempt to install it manually.

You're putting several carts before your horse IMHO. If the update engine
detected any known issues, SP1 wouldn't be offered.

As I read the articles regarding the Logitech Lvuvc.sys file preventing SP1
to download, it appeared to be a "given"..If your system has this Identidied
file....SP1 will not Download or Install until Microsoft fixes the problem.

How would I even know if SP1 attempted to be downloaded and install SP1 via
the Windows Automatic Update if in Fact it gets Blocked due to this known
problem?

If SP1 won't download\Install due to this problem I certainly would not
attempt to force its install by attempting a Manual Install.

In your first post, you told us that SP1 was offered to the machine by
Windows Update:

>>> If I go to Windows Update SP1 appears as an available Update...

This means that the machine is ready for SP1 and that the update detection
engine did not identify anything on the machine that might cause SP1 not to
install properly. If you want to continue second-guessing the detection
engine, go right ahead. There's no way I or anyone else here can tell you
that the machine is not ready for SP1.
