Vista Home Prem

I was wondering if RDP, ISS, and IPP are able to work in Vista Home Prem.

If not why are they there. Also is IIS needed for IPP since IPP is listed on
another check box?

You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running any
Home Edition. Home can connect TO computers capable of running it.

IIS will install on any system that shows it in the 'Windows features'
dialog.

If IPP is a hosting app, I don't show it as a feature by that name in any
version of Vista.

Okay Internet Printing Protocol is what I would like to use if possible to
share a USB printer on the internet. Does Vista Home Prem support this or
will I have to do this through IIS7 on Vista Home Prem?

Yes, that IPP is accessed via HTTP, which would require a web server of some
kind.

ISS in home Premium is VERY basic, (below ISS6), and is a waste of time.

Ahh got some steps to do this with IIS7? I have been trying to do this all
day. I assumed it would be easier in Vista vs XP Pro now I am not to sure.
Why did they even bother with the Printing Services check box then they
should have had that active only when IIS was active. If I wanted to
configure 50 billion things I would have a Linux System gees. No Hard
feelings to anyone here but man what were these MS people thinking. I should
be able to go to the turn services on/off panel and select the check box
next to IPP or Print Services do a wizard (Yes MS spoiled me on wizards) and
!!!BAM!!!! instant webserver setup just for IPP and it should give me the
URL just like that then select the printers that need to be shared online
done. Instead I have to jump through hoops because MS did not think to
include better support for home users....I should just get Ultimate. Why did
they create so many versions of Vista? XP Home XP Pro cut and
dry.....ahhhh.
