Vista Home Premium 32 bit and SnagIt 9.1.0

I have a conventional PC running under Vista Home Premium, updated earlier
this week.

I run SnagIt at Startup (its default). Since updating SnagIt from version
9.0.1 to version 9.1.0 my computer will not close down cleanly.

When closing down or restarting I get this message:

C:\Program Files\ ......\Snagit32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

When I OK (rather than Cancel) this I get a black screen with this text,
some of it red:

The following programs are still running:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
This program is preventing your computer from restarting.
SnagIt OneClick
To close these programs and restart your computer,
Click Restart now.
You may lose work that you haven't saved.
[Restart now] [Cancel]

If I Cancel, then I get the message that SnagIt "has stopped working" and
when I dismiss that I can close down normally.

I followed advice from the Techsmith Website forum to install the C++
Runtime Library from Microsoft, but it did not solve the problem in my case.

If I shut down SnagIt before restarting my computer there is no problem,
but, as I run it as a startup program, I don't want to have to think about
it when closing down.

Doug
