Vista home premium and service packs?

Hi all,

Towards the end of last year I bought my laptop which has Vista Home Premium
on it. I am not yet connected to the internet with my laptop, so until I do
so, I haven't installed any Vista updates such as service packs etc.

Please would someone explain how early or late edition of Vista the home
premium one is? When I do go online with it, would it be downloading SP1? The
reason I ask is that I have Adobe Audition 2.0 installed and thankfully it
works on my laptop. But have heard that once my laptop starts to download the
update for Vista, such as SP1, if my laptop does have the early version of
Vista, it could cause confliction and problems and basically the program
won't work. Apparently later versions of Vista are fine with that program.

Thanks and hope all that makes sense!!!

Best wishes,

Becky.

When you connect it to the Internet and it starts getting updates - you
could get as many as 50+ before it even attempts to download SP1 for Windows
Vista. It will get what you need to properly install all the updates if you
allow it to just do the process on its own.

However - it would be wise to do an extra backup of your important stuff
right before you connect it and start this whole updating process. Computer
software/data on storage is one of the few things in life where you can,
with a little preparation, have an easy 'undo, that never happened' button
available (don't you wish everything was like that?)
