Vista Home Premium Backup

This is the first time I have used the backup in Vista. It was set to backup
Document files and appeared to go thru adding files to disk then message
received that backup was not completed successfully with error message ccess
is denied 0x80070005

Please describe the backup procedure you tried. Are you trying to backup
to an external hard drive, which is the preferred method?

Used the Vista "Backup files" to a cd on my writable drive.

Temporarily disable your antivirus program and try backing up again.

The safest way to backup your data is to copy it to the medium of your
choice rather than rely on a backup program.
As you have rapidly discovered backup programs are not very reliable,
whether made by Microsoft or anyone else.
