Not sure what code you're talking about.

One way to do this is to connect the two computers by a USB cable and start
WET from the new computer. The procedure is outlined in the article.
You can also do the transfer through a network connection which, from what
you have written below, I believe you have. Again the procedure is in the
article.
You can't just copy the Documents and Settings folder from the XP machine to
the Vista machine. The file structure is different. Vista puts the user
data in various foldes under \Users\<Username>\.
Although the Documents and Settings folder exists on a Vista installtion it
gives you an access denied message when trying to open it. That's because
it's actually only a junction, containing a link to the real folder in Vista
where this data should go. You would need some specfic knowledge about
where to move things, and it isn't always obvious. Best to use WET.
