VISTA HOME PREMIUM MEDIA CENTER

My new computer came loaded with Vista Home Premium, a Windows version
that I find very fast, secure as an Army base or the FBI, and extremely
complicated... for me, at least. I am just a writer who needs a PC to just
write, edit, file, print, mail, and listen to live music and the news.
I can't set up Internet radio stations on this advanced Media Center
because the words WINAMP and "live music" do not even show up after I click
on RADIO in the MUSIC menu. There seem to be no files for WINAMP or live
music anywhere in my computer; however, since WINAMP should be accessible
and installable in this Vista version, I think I just do not know how to
locate it.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Even if it comes from someone
who needs to call me an idiot,a moron, a.s.o. as long as his/her technical
knowledge can help me. I am already aware that my ignorance is much larger
than my knowledge regarding Vista and anything else in the world of
cybernetics as well as all other worlds of knowledge.
Thanks!

If that's all you need, then why don't you look into Ubuntu:
http://ubuntu.com

You'll find that it is quite a bit easier to use than Vista, and quite
a bit faster too (it's Linux based). The only problem is that it will
not run Windows games.

I chuckled aloud, when I read your third paragraph. Don't worry about such
things in this newsgroup. If you have a question, post it. There are those
here who will answer it in a professional and courteous manner. So, post
away. )
