Lol I think that Vista is a joke PERIOD!!!!!
First of all my windows media player 11 naffs up cant get it to work no
matter what a try as I cant be bothered doing a reinstall.
trying to use Vista in admin mode is utter trash, as I cant seem to edit
alter replace files as it states I need and administrators permission in
which I'm in the admin mode!
Internet explorer now seems to have gone utter crap even when I use a
restore its still the same..
and to make things even more of a joke Microsoft want me to pay them £46.50
just for a reply to an email.
if anyone out there knows of any ways around these problems without having
to reinstall would be much appreciated.

And for now I will not be purchasing another MS product if I'm going to pay
for support.

Problem: "You need administrative permission to continue"
In "english" Your not allowed to perform <operation(edit, delete, rename, etc)>
Solution: Change file permissions

More help
Support is on Microsoft communties
Subscribe to the correct group and ask questions there(if using windows
mail)

By the way. Microsoft tries to make $ by charing $50 US for support.

Try R-Clicking the offending folder and selecting "Take Ownership". This
should give you access without any limitations.

Paul, I appreaciate you frustrations. However, it is not going to hel
anyone, particularly yourself, by not providing details, such as wha
was the error message and what were you doing at that time, or what typ
of file you were trying to "edit/alter/replace" and did it say " acces
denied", or " you need Administrator permissions etc". You provide th
details, someone might be able to ioslate the source of the problem(s)
As to the matter of " restore", I assume you mean system restore
When you do a system restore to correct a problem, you need to
backdate " to a date when you know there was no problem. It's calle
restore point. Meaning you have to CHOOSE a restore point. If you don'
,the system will choose the MOST RECENT DATE , i.e. to-day, which wil
do you no good because the problems are already there. Anyway, post you
quesion again, itemize and with detail on each, and we'll take it fro
there
