I recently purchased a toshiba notebook (A205-s4577). I formated it for the
first time, using a DVD that came along with my computer. After that, I
receive a message that says that I have to activate the product on-line. When
I type the cd-key that is on a sticker under my notebook it says "Your
product key is Invalid". I already tryed to install the upgrade KB931573 but
it was already installed. I had my system locked for access twice by this
activation mesage, in both times I had to format my computer and lost all my
information. That is really annoying!! I would apreciate some help.

Another thing. Will the activation by phone system work with me, since I am
from Brazil??

Thank you

From Brink (Shawn):
You just need to do a phone
activation to fix the problem. This tutorial will show you how.

Your notebook is loaded with OEM Vista. Preactivated by the manufacture.
When you reformated and reinstalled Vista activation again became
mandatory. Problem is OEM software is only able to be activated online 1
time. ANy further activations "will" have to be done via telephone. And
yes you will have no problem with this mehod in Brazil.

If you can't activate on-line then the next option is to telephone the
activation line. The activation line is automated and you should listen
carefully to the prompts. If activation fails again, which it may, don't hang
up stay on the telephone and you will be redirected to a 'real' person who
will help you with activation.
