I purchased 2 dell computers:

AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 3500+; Memory 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs;
Hard Drive 80GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache

It came with vista home

1. will vista business upgrade vista home?
2. do I want to order 32 bit or 64 bit
3. Is vista business compatible with Server 2003

Thank you to anyone who can answer these questions!!

I do not see that upgrade path at this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro.../overview.mspx
It looks like you can upgrade your basic to ultimate, but not to business.

64 bit is for people who know why they need it.
Since you are asking, it follows that you don't need it.

Vista business and ultimate ought to be compatible with Server 2003.
I speak without sure knowledge, however, so those who know should say.

Oops -- if you have Server 2003, then you wanted computers with Vista
Business on it in the first place -- you might consider contacting
Dell, explaining the situation and seeing what they can do to help you
correct this. Vista Business will work fine with Server 2003 (I'm
assuming you are running AD on Server 2003 which will require Vista
Business or Vista Ultimate.

Stay with 32 bit Vista.

You can only go from Home Basic to Home Premium or Vista Ultimate --
the move up to Ultimate is likely overkill and fairly expensive.

You might look to a Dell E521 with an 3800X2 CPU, 2G of memory and
choose the upgrade to an ATI x1300 as well.
