Vista Home won't start after a Blue Screen crash

Right after launching Virtual PC (worked before), I got a blue screen
with some code. Rebooted and Vista couldn't started. Chose repair and
memory check but it still won't start. What else can I do to make it
start?

VAIO has a hidden partition with system recovery. If everything else
fail, I probably need to choose the option to recover. With that
option, will it wipe clean my HD and I would lose all the data on the
drive? I don't mind start over again, but I would hate to lose data on
the HD.

Just wanted to add more detail:
After turnning, it goes to Windows Erro Recovery screen with option to
Launch startup repair or to start windows normally. If I choose to
start normally, it goes to black screen with progress bar like usual.
After a few minutes (longer than usual startup), it shuts the monitor
off but the on/off button is still on with green light but nothing
happens. Press and button again, it shuts down compleletely.

I'v tried the repair option, but it didn't help. This is a VIAO laptop
with Vista Home Premium.

On that 'Error Recovery Screen' try the 'Last known good configuration'
option.

This should start up Windows with the last set of drivers that worked.

Upon reflection, it's probably not an option on that particular screen. I
was thinking of the 'Advanced Boot Options' screen.

If you tap f8 soon after boot, but prior to that Error Recovery Screen
appearing, then the 'Advanced Boot Options' screen should appear and 'last
known configuration' should be an option on that menu.

F10 on SONY allows the user to recover the system to factory state.

that option NEVER works.

it's just a joke that i ordened to be added in there with a "do nothing"
code.
i like to contribute to the system development some times, just for the
jazz...
