Vista IE8 help please!

I have a new machine with Vista Home Premium.

I find when browsing in IE8 it works fine for a while then it just can't
seem to load any pages even my home page. No message, just a blank screen
and the green bar across the bottom sitting there about half way across and
doesn't go any further as if it can't load the page.

I have cleaners I have tried but the only thing that works is to restart my
machine.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Thanks

Graham

Try IE8 without any Add-ons, particularly "SSVHelperClass" if you have
got it enabled. HTH.

Yeah, if he takes his computer to Microsoft, he has a chance, albeit
slim, that they can fix it in less than a week and at a price that would
make Gates choke.

Never thought of that, do I need to uninstall IE8 first?

The machine has IE7 when I first turned it on but automatic updates was on
and it installed IE8 before I even noticed what it has done.

Thanks for your replies guys and will repost to correct group sorry about
that!

Thanks for this. I have the same problem in both Vista and Win7. This
seemed to help. My behaviour usually occurs when I open links in a new
tab. Or rather attempt to open links in a new tab. I keep trying to
use IE, but keep encountering problems. This seems to be a help with
this behavior. So I am assuming is is a Java issue? I am also running
64 bit in both OS's.

If you reinstall a program, but don't delete the settings in your
profile you normally repeat the exact same issues. You can do the same
thing by resetting all to default. Much easier to do and much quicker.
