I LOVE the search fucntion in Vista, problem is that it finds duplicates in
Outlook 2007, however there ARE NO duplicates in outlook, to make matters
worse when I change one contact card it does not show up in the other, giving
the impression of 2 distinct cards when there is only 1 in fact.
I have alreay rebuilt the indexes multiple times...

It will continue find files you deleted from your filesystem, and will
not find newly created files as well. Get used to it, just Microsofts
way of improving your user experience.

Hi,

I soloved this problem by rebuikding the index AND checking the advanced
power setting. In advanced power settings you will find a property for the
search engine when your PC is on battery or plugged in. Standard both seem to
be on "balanced" but I found out that de indexer on my laptop "paused to
conserve your battery" although the laptop was plugged into the mains. This
explained why my index never got finished, because while working on the PC
the indexer also slows down (intentionally)

Once I changed the setting to "high priority" and left my laptop for 2 hours
indexing the files (I also removed most of the extensions to index, and
limited it to things like .doc, .msg, .xls, .txt, .ppt) he suddenly had
finished indexing some 13,000 files.
I could not find any duplicates like a recent setn mail that was previously
indexed under drafts, outbox and sent items.
